This is an interactive and dynamic class encouraging self-expression, reflection and unity with others. This practice is geared towards developing teen’s bodies and minds, nurturing confidence and body appreciation. Teens will cultivate strength, flexibility and concentration though a range of postures, incorporating balancing, visualization and relaxation.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa yoga is a vibrant system of practicing traditional asana (postures) while linking breath (pranayama) to movement. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, and breath integration/control. The practice consists of sequential movement that combines postures with the breath to form a continuous flowing practice building heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Sequencing is often formed around the Surya Namaskara’s, commonly referred to as sun salutations.

Vinyasa 1/2

This class is perfect if you are new to the practice of yoga or for more experienced students wish to review the basics. Level 1-2 flow focuses on building and strengthening the foundation of asanas (postures) with proper alignment and breath (pranayama). Students will develop body awareness through cultivation of flexibility, strength and balance. Various yogic forms of breathing and how to integrate breath and movements together, and become familiar with the connection to your physical and energetic body will also be incorporated.

Vinyasa 2/3

Vinyasa 2/3 is an advanced vinyasa class, moving through asana while linking breath to movement. You should be an experienced yoga practitioner and have a regular practice as you will further build heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Most often, sequencing is formed around sun salutations.

Gentle Flow

Gentle flow is a slow moving yoga class centered on calm sun salutations integrated with breath. Soft openings of the body, heart and mind encourage mind-body awareness and create a relaxed and meditative practice. This class is perfect for beginners, or even advanced practitioners wishing to slow down.

Meditation Flow

Go deeper into the more subtle limbs of Yoga in this integrative class, which combines the use of kirtan (chanting), asana (postures), pranayama (breath control), and meditation to condition the body and relax the mind, opening the student into greater awareness of self, and ultimately, a more peaceful and harmonious state of being. This class is appropriate for anyone interested in expanding their practice off of the mat and delving deeper into the roots of Yoga’s true meaning.

Revive and Re-charge

This class is all about balance...in our lives and on the mat. Half of the class is dedicated to warming up the body and breath through hatha/vinyasa flow movement. Winding down, the second half of class will be spent on cooling the body and resting the mind in some amazing restorative asanas. This class is great for all levels!

Restorative

Restorative classes offer peaceful, meditative postures held for extended periods of time where the body is supported by props. A soothing and regenerating atmosphere is created through the candlelit room and gentle, quiet music. Energy reserves are recharged and heal the effects of stress from our daily lives, bringing necessary conscious relaxation. Recent neurological research shows that 20 minutes in a well supported restorative pose is equal to 2 hours worth of good sleep in terms of brainwave activity and cell regeneration.

Yoga for Athletes

This class is geared towards stretching for all of those tight athletic muscles as well cultivating strength and concentration! Lots of stretching including quad and hamstring openers as well as core strengthening, balancing poses and inversions will be included. This is a Great class to attend if you are new to yoga or just a little tight from your triathlon training!

Iyengar

Geared towards holding yoga postures in precise alignment, this style of yoga is based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility and balance as well as breath awareness. It is very common for props to be utilized to correct body alignment and deepen awareness. Iyengar is an excellent class for beginners and advanced practitioners wanting to refine yoga postures.

Hatha

Traditional asanas (yoga postures) are held in accurate alignment. Emphasis is on core strength, flexibility and balance as well as concentration and breath control. Hatha yoga is based on physical postures, deep breathing, mindfulness and being aware of/listening to your body.
